In the Garden
An ongoing collection of Original Watercolour Monotypes.
Let us take a walk into the garden. Down the path, looking up at the trees. Slow down and watch the sunlight through the branches, with each breath brings the chance to revel in the beauty of nature.
The changing of the seasons, the impermanence. The buds pushing through the soil, dew in the morning grass, the shifting colours, crinkling of leaves. Each moment, each breath, a chance to start anew.
Creating monotypes has been a breath of fresh air. A process that has brought so much magic and joy to my practice.
A monotype is a unique printmaking technique. Monotypes are made by applying paint or printmaking ink directly onto a flat sheet of metal, glass or plastic. The painted image is transferred to paper by rubbing or using a press. Unlike other forms of printmaking, a monotype is only produced once and is entirely unique.
